About Me...

I live in the Austin, TX area (aka "Live Music Capital of the World") and I have 25+ years of experience playing live as well as studio recording playing many styles of music including rock, blues, jazz, reggae, and country.  I'm currently playing with Elliott Fikes and Soul Serenade, Alibi, and Contrafact.  I have also played live and/or recorded with artists such as:  Johnny Apollo and the Saturn Seven, Steve Alexander, Johnny Reverb and Dream House, The Blades, The Sibling Rivals, Timmy and the Timebombs, Murry Woods and Tangled Blue, (the late) Junior Medlow, The Lords of Love (with the late Jesse Taylor), Black Coffee, Natalie Zoe, Memphis Train, Joanna Howerton, L.A. Jones and the Blues Messengers,  The Doc Hogan Band, The DellTones, Malachi,  Derral Gleason, the River City Jazz Group, Binary Spirals, and many more.   With these bands, I've gotten to share the stage with bands such as Bobby Blue Bland, Storyville, the Booze Weasels (Joe Ely's band), and Human Rights (ex-Bad Brains singer H.R.).  Prior to all of this, yeah I was a schooled percussionist (ok, band geek) where I learned to play ratamacue's and pata-fla-flas and performed in concert & symphonic settings.  I also played snare drum in high school and college level marching (corps-style) bands.

My style tends to steer toward the side of "less is more" or "groove" drumming (unless requested otherwise of course).  I can read charts (and sometimes chicken scratch), play to loops, copy your programmed part, or I will listen to your song and attempt to compose a part that feels good.  I'm easy to work with, open to your feedback, and will do my best to find the exact sound and feel you are looking for.

Most recently I wrapped up playing on, recording, mixing, and mastering of Paul Haake's CD.  I've also produced two CDs for my band Alibi (Live at the Roadhouse & Live in Austin) using Pro Tools to mix and master the CDs.  In 2007, I co-produced, mixed, and mastered Chad Howard's latest CD, Save Your Soul.   In 2006, I also completed my own solo CD (with my own original compositions).  In 2008 I recorded, mixed and mastered a live CD project for Contrafact and also played on and mixed/mastered the debut release of the Big City Windows CD with Binary Spirals.   In 2009, I did the same for Paul Haake.  I am also working with a few other local recording projects, bands and singer/songwriters as well as others via the magic of the internet.  Please see the "Samples" page for more details on those releases.
